Background: Lean Engineering
and Lean Thinking are more than just management fad concepts. The principles specified are meant to generated added returns. But how do you
attain them. Many companies use the value improvement processes (VIP) as specified in the Independent Project Analysis (IPA) studies and
audits generated for more than 1,500 major companies to implement not only the lean methods, but direct them through the value added concepts
